Research Associate<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Judith Maria Poersch studied Geography and French (Master’s degree in Education) at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. After completing a semester at the Universit\u00e9 de Bourgogne Franche-Comt\u00e9 in Dijon in 2014\/2015, she worked as a graduate assistant in the ERASMUS Information Medicine department at Mainz University Medical Center from 2015 to 2019. She was also a student member of the executive committee of the Gutenberg Research College at JGU from 2016 to 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She wrote her master’s thesis on the influence of an ERASMUS stay of Mainz medical students on their further life and professional biographies (title: ERASMUS macht mobil – Eine Untersuchung zu Internationalisierung und Mobilit\u00e4t am Beispiel von Outgoing-Student*innen der Mainz University Medical Center; supervisor Prof. Dr. V. Cummings). She has been a doctoral student and research assistant in the Human Geography work group since April 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \n\n \n\n

This research project is dedicated to the North Sea region as a transnational space of communication and identity. At the interface of legal geographies, care ethics and geographies of knowledge production, deep mapping and ethnographic-qualitative research methods are used to investigate the extent to which environmental and resource responsibility is understood beyond (nation-state) borders and negotiated\/practiced by various actors. In view of the technological change in the use of the oceans, the focus is on social challenges, such as those of critical infrastructure (including the energy and food sectors, etc.) and social infrastructure (ocean literacy). <\/p>\n\n\n<\/jgu-base-accordionitem>\n\n\n \n\n
