In his bachelor’s thesis, an ethnographic study, he explores the question of what learning effects the participation of people with disabilities in a museum tour can have. The learning effects are shown in the form of a sustainable cycle that leads from participation to uncovering the formatting of participation, to agency and, through the opening of new spaces of possibility, to a democratization of knowledge and thus again to new participation. This thesis will be published in early 2023.

He is currently studying human geography at the Johannes Gutenberg University as part of the English-language master’s degree program “Human Geography: Globalization, Media and Culture”. He has been working at the Institute of Geography as a student assistant since November 2022. As he is still in the process of exploring the broad field of Human, Cultural and Media Geography, his (research) interest is primarily focused on the interdisciplinary aspects of this discipline. One concept that has piqued his interest is the forms of cultural resistance in our postmodern world. His way of thinking and research is guided by the principle: Research with, not about. He also works in museum education for the Historisches Museum Frankfurt and the Museum für Kommunikation in Frankfurt.

<jgu-base-image react-props="{
    "image": {
        "url": null,
        "id": 9241
    },
    "align": "",
    "hasLightbox": false,
    "caption": "",
    "imgWidth": 0,
    "link": {
        "url": "",
        "target": "",
        "rel": ""
    }
}" class="align-">

</jgu-base-image>

<jgu-base-image react-props="{
    "image": {
        "url": "https://cms.zdv.uni-mainz.de/fb09humangeographie/wp-content/uploads/sites/439/2025/01/IMG-20220914-WA0009_Profilbild_Greenleaf.jpg",
        "id": 9393,
        "title": "IMG-20220914-WA0009_Profilbild_Greenleaf",
        "width": 899,
        "height": 1599,
        "srcset": "https://cms.zdv.uni-mainz.de/fb09humangeographie/wp-content/uploads/sites/439/2025/01/IMG-20220914-WA0009_Profilbild_Greenleaf.jpg 899w, https://cms.zdv.uni-mainz.de/fb09humangeographie/wp-content/uploads/sites/439/2025/01/IMG-20220914-WA0009_Profilbild_Greenleaf-169x300.jpg 169w, https://cms.zdv.uni-mainz.de/fb09humangeographie/wp-content/uploads/sites/439/2025/01/IMG-20220914-WA0009_Profilbild_Greenleaf-576x1024.jpg 576w, https://cms.zdv.uni-mainz.de/fb09humangeographie/wp-content/uploads/sites/439/2025/01/IMG-20220914-WA0009_Profilbild_Greenleaf-768x1366.jpg 768w, https://cms.zdv.uni-mainz.de/fb09humangeographie/wp-content/uploads/sites/439/2025/01/IMG-20220914-WA0009_Profilbild_Greenleaf-864x1536.jpg 864w"
    },
    "align": "",
    "hasLightbox": false,
    "caption": "",
    "imgWidth": 0,
    "link": {
        "url": "",
        "target": "",
        "rel": ""
    }
}" class="align-">

</jgu-base-image>

<jgu-base-idm-person react-props="{
    "link": "false",
    "skipDetails": [
        "portrait"
    ],
    "id": "",
    "organizationId": 0,
    "roleId": 0,
    "align": "left",
    "color": "default",
    "mode": "edit",
    "linkType": "false"
}">

</jgu-base-idm-person>

Consultation hours:
By appointment by e-mail

Student assistant Jonathan Greenleaf holds a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology and American Studies (2022) from the Johann Wolfgang von Goethe University in Frankfurt.
